MOTOR REPLACEMENT
NOTE: To remove the motor, the motor screw
covers must be removed and will be
destroyed during the process. Replace
the motor screw covers with new ones.
(Refer to the Parts List for replacements.)
If the motor housing has been previously
damaged and has to be replaced, destroy
the housing instead of the motor screw
covers to remove the covers. (Refer to
the Parts List for housing replacements.)
- ALL MODELS -
To replace the motor (all models):
1. Turn the motor housing to where the top is facing up.
2. Unplug the power cord.
NOTE: To remove the motor, the motor shaft
sleeve must be removed and will be
destroyed during the process. (Refer to
the Parts List for replacements.)
4. Remove the three (3) plastic motor screw covers on the
top of the unit by drilling a small hole in the middle,
inserting a screw, and popping it off using a pliers.
Discard the damaged motor screw covers.
3. To remove the motor shaft sleeve, the preferred method is
to use a hand held rotary tool (Dremel® type tool) with a
cut off wheel attached. Carefully cut the motor shaft
sleeve down its length deep enough to loosen the sleeve
from the motor shaft. Do not damage the motor shaft
during this process. Remove the motor shaft sleeve.
If a rotary tool is not available, the alternate method is to
position a chisel through the top/center of the sleeve.
Using a plastic hammer, rap the tool thereby splitting the
motor shaft sleeve. Continue to split the sleeve until it can
be pulled off the motor shaft.
NOTE: The motor shaft can be damaged if it is
struck too hard using a hammer. Be very
careful if using a chisel to remove the
motor shaft sleeve.
