7. Position the torsion spring over its mounting hub on the
switch lever making sure the spring ends that extend out
are facing up.

SPRING REPLACEMENT
9 & 12 CUP FOOD PROCESSORS
8. Locate the straight end of the torsion spring in its locating
position on the back side of the switch lever.
To replace the splash proof switch lever/torsion spring for the 9
and 12 cup food processor:
9. Mount the switch lever over the lever mounting boss while
at the same time applying pressure to the L-shaped end of
the torsion spring so that it clears the motor housing.
1. Unplug the power cord and remove the housing base.
10. Seat the switch lever on the lever mounting boss and
release the tension on the L-shaped end of the spring.
The L-shaped end of the spring will seat against the motor
housing thereby applying pressure keeping the switch
lever in a closed position.
2. Perform steps 1 – 5 of the SAFETY SWITCH
REPLACEMENT procedure.
3. Remove the aluminum Phillips head washer screw
securing the switch lever and torsion spring to the lever
mounting boss on the motor housing.
11. Insert and tighten the aluminum washer screw to secure
the switch lever/torsion spring to the lever mounting boss.
4. Rotate the switch lever towards the inside of the motor
housing until the striker post is clear of the motor housing.
5. Carefully pull up and remove the switch lever and torsion
spring from the lever mounting boss on the motor housing.
6. Remove the torsion spring from its mounting hub on the
switch lever.
