MOTOR STARTING CAPACITOR REPLACEMENT
5. Using a T-20 torx driver, remove the two (2) capacitor clip
mounting screws securing the 2-piece capacitor clip (and
motor starting capacitor) to the motor base.
- 9 & 12 CUP FOOD PROCESSOR -
To replace the motor starting capacitor for the 9 and 12 cup
food processor:
6. Remove the
motor starting capacitor from the capacitor
clip.
7. Insert the new
motor starting capacitor (in approximately
the same orientation as the old capacitor) into the bottom
half of the capacitor clip.
NOTE: The following replacement procedure is
described with the motor housing turned
on its side on a cushioned surface and the
motor starting capacitor oriented down.
8. Install the upper half of the capacitor clip over the motor
starting capacitor and align the two (2) mounting holes.
9. Loosely insert the two (2) capacitor clip mounting screws
through the flanges in the capacitor clip.
1. Unplug the power cord and remove the housing base.
2. Unplug the red wire/connector from the bottom/RH
terminal on the
motor starting capacitor going to the
motor. The other terminal on the bottom side will not have
any connection.
10. Install the capacitor clip/motor starting capacitor into its
mounting position while at the same time aligning the two
(2) capacitor clip mounting screws with the two (2)
mounting bosses on the motor housing.
3. Unplug the blue wire/connector from the top/LH terminal
on the
motor starting capacitor going to the safety switch.
The safety switch is attached at the inside/top of the motor
housing.
11. Using a T-20 torx driver, tighten the two (2) capacitor clip
mounting screws into the motor base.
12. Plug the one (1) red and two (2) blue wires onto the same
terminals on the
motor starting capacitor as they were
removed.
4. Unplug the blue wire/connector from the top/RH terminal
on the
motor starting capacitor going to the top/LH side
of the adapter that is plugged into the relay switch.
